About us
Looking to make new friends? Yeah, us too! It's tricky to meet new friends in a new town, or when life changes. We’ve done meetups and generally like them, but when they're focused on a topic or activity, we find we don't make enduring relationships there. So that's the purpose of this one. No topics, or agendas, just meeting and enjoying each other's company.
We'll meet at a happy hour, do co-working sessions, or just get Saturday morning coffee. We've also done small side excursions for cross-country skiing and ice skating, whatever people want to do!
Since the goal is friendship, you don't need to worry about showing up alone and not having anyone to talk to. We’ll welcome you in and make sure you're a part of the conversation. But you'll probably find a friendly face before you even get to us. :)
You’ll also notice a donation option at the bottom. We recently added that to help cover the fees we pay. Anything left over will be distributed to hosts to pay for their time in setting things up. If you get something out of these events, please consider it, but this is 100% optional!

Making Better Friends: A Salon for Deepening Your Relationships—TICKET REQUIRED
Junkyard Social Club, 2525 Frontier Ave, Unit A, Boulder, CO, USPLEASE NOTE: You must purchase a ticket HERE for this event in addition to registering on Meetup.
***
Three clear themes have emerged since this Meetup group launched in 2023.
First, people want to make new friends. Second, people want to build stronger, more meaningful connections earlier in relationships. And third, they want to deepen the friendships they already have.
This 2.5-hour, in-person salon is designed for people who have participated in Make New Friends and are ready to take the next step: thoughtfully growing newer connections and intentionally deepening current friendships.
This salon is not a social gathering. It's not a class. It's not therapy. It’s a highly facilitated, small-group experience (limited to 12 people) focused on one essential question:
What actually helps relationships deepen - and how do we practice it?
The salon blends short, practical framing with guided interaction and reflection. We’ll explore:
- Why many acquaintanceships and friendships stall, and how to move them forward
- Conversation openers and prompts that create connection and depth
- Emotionally intelligent behaviors and language that support healthy relationships
- Practical communication tips that integrate candor, empathy, reciprocity, and action
You’ll spend much of the session in paired and group dialogue, practicing new ways of engaging that are simple, human, and immediately applicable.
You’ll leave with:
- Clarity on how to deepen at least one long-standing relationship
- A concrete commitment to deepen a new acquaintance or emerging friendship
- A repeatable way of approaching conversations that build stronger, more meaningful relationships
This salon is for people who are curious, hopeful, slightly uncomfortable, and ready to be more intentional about the relationships they want and care about.
Please purchase a ticket HERE in addition to registering on Meetup.8 attendees
