Finding Your People: A Workshop on Making New Friends
Details
Making friends as an adult can be hard, especially if you’re new in town, going through a life transition, or just trying to reboot your social life.
Many of us haven’t returned to the habits we once had for meeting people and building/maintaining friendships. And the data supports it:
- 42% of Americans say they socialize less now than they did before the pandemic
- 1 in 5 U.S. adults report experiencing loneliness
- the average adult has just 3-5 close friends, a number that has declined consistently over the decades
- more than half of older adults report spending more time at home and less time in public social settings
In fact, at virtually all of our "Make New Friends" events, we hear personal stories that align with these findings.
So if you're motivated to move in the other direction - to meet more people and make more friends - join us at this interactive workshop where you'll:
- have an opportunity to share your challenges, questions, and hopes with others in a safe space
- learn practical language, behaviors, and action steps to build and deepen connections
- discover places and strategies to meet people in the real world rather than online
- hear my lived experiences of making friends after getting divorced and moving to Colorado, as well as hosting dozens of "Make New Friends" events
You’ll leave with concrete ideas, practices, and confidence to grow genuine friendships - whether for coffee, adventure, hanging out, or meaningful conversation.
If you’ve ever said, “I want more friends in my life,” this workshop is for you!
