Get Scrappy! Family Junk Jamboree

Details

Bring your curiosity, creativity, and your favorite kid(s) to MakeHaven for an afternoon of hands-on fun! During this special family meetup, we’ll dive into our treasure troves of wood and fabric scraps and see what magic we can make. From wacky sculptures to crafty creations, you and your young makers can explore self-directed projects
together—no set rules, just imagination leading the way.

This low-key, family-friendly gathering is the perfect chance to:

  • Get creative with a variety of scrap materials
  • Work side-by-side on fun, open-ended projects
  • Meet other families who love to make, tinker, and dream big
  • Chat about future family meetups and ways to bring more making magic to kids at the makerspace

All ages are welcome—just bring a guardian to supervise and join the fun. If you have any crafty supplies or scraps to add to the mix, feel free to bring them along. And if you may need some snacks at this time of day, you are welcome to bring and use our kitchen as needed. Let’s get scrappy!
