What we’re about
Welcome to Denver Dharma Collective! We are a primarily Buddhist group dedicated to bringing the teachings to the Front Range of Colorado.
We've come a long way since Meditation-at-Mayu, when Mayu was a physical space on South Pearl Street in Denver. It was incredible. It offered meditation, foot baths, tea and a refuge from the daily chaos of living in a big city. All of those involved from that time have now moved on to other wonderful paths.
Now, as Denver Dharma Collective, this group will include teachers from different Buddhist lineages as well as other disciplines that align with Buddhist teachings. The sister group, Insight Denver, offers weekly in-person meditation groups along with classes, practice weekends and other opportunities to sit in the tradition of vipassana or insight meditation. Please see Insight Denver Meetup for more information.
Here, you will see events from Insight Denver, and from our other sister group, The Raft - Buddhist Recovery. In addition, I still teach Dharma Wednesdays focused on Yogic philosophy including Patanjali's Yoga Sutras and The Bhagavad Gita.

Naturally Aware: Practicing in Everyday Life
First Baptist Church of Denver, 1373 Grant Street, Denver, CO, USJoin Insight Denver for our fall 2025 Practice Weekend! This is a Friday evening and all day Saturday event. We will explore bringing mindful awareness into our daily activities - walking, transitioning between postures and activities, eating and drinking, even talking! The schedule will alternate periods of sitting meditation, to stabilize and collect the mind, with various daily activities to illuminate how natural and accessible Dharma practice can be amidst the hustle and bustle of modern life. We will also offer a gentle mindful movement practice that is adaptable for all body types and ages. Beginners and seasoned practitioners are welcome! Please click here to register.
In addition, Insight Denver is experimenting with asking for a $10 registration fee for this practice weekend, the proceeds of which will go directly to First Baptist Church for their generosity in supporting our meetings. This fee is separate from any dana offered which will, as usual, go to Insight Denver to support its events, speakers, and operational needs. We can waive this fee for those with limited resources. Email insightdenverinfo@gmail.com with any questions.

Meditation at Insight Denver
First Baptist Church of Denver, 1373 Grant Street, Denver, CO, USOur Practice
Insight Denver meets on Sunday evenings, 6:00 - 8:00 pm. We sit meditation for 30 minutes, then take a break for refreshments, after which a dharma talk is offered followed by group discussion. New comers and long time meditators are both welcome!Who and What Are We?
Insight Denver is part of the vibrant and changing meditation community in the greater Denver area. It teaches Vipassana, or Insight, style of meditation, as well as other related practices from the Early Buddhist tradition. We draw on teachers across the country to bring the dharma to this community while encouraging discussion, practice and volunteer opportunities. Insight Denver is supported by a Board and a Teachers Collective. Most important, Insight Denver is the us who shows up every Sunday to sit together. How Do We Operate?
In the tradition of Theravadan Buddhism, we operate solely on dana, donations, or gifts that are freely given. This is a practice and not an obligation. Dana supports retreats, community events, developing new practice opportunities and more. To give in person, there is a dana basket for cash or checks made to “Insight Denver,” and PayPal/Venmo QR codes at First Baptist. Or click here for our website.2 attendees
