For the first time in Austin, we are offering a modern, easy to learn, and practical full day meditation retreat.
Full-Day Introduction to Meditation Retreat in Austin, Texas
Sunday, March 17th
9 – 5PM Central Time
(Limited to first 10)
This full day meditation retreat is open to students who:

Are interested in learning the foundations of meditation, One-Pointedness Concentration Practice

Have an establish meditation practice and is open to deepening your practice

Interested in learning how to meditate with the eyes open, while practicing throughout your day

Curious about developing tools to meditate 15 to 30 minutes effortlessly and develop the daily habit
Introduction to Meditation Retreat, Full Day Summary:
9 to 10AM
Everyone arrives, and gets to know one another. We share our intention for the day and get into a short practice.
10:10AM to 11AM
We'll go over the proper posture for meditation called the 7-point posture.
Introduction on how to relax the body, and use visualization exercises before your meditation to prepare your mind and body to be less distracted and more focused.
1 hour break
12 to 1PM
Everyone will check in on how they practiced moving meditation throughout their break and lunch.
We will then go over a very effective way to decrease anxiety and or increase energy inside and outside the meditation practice.
1:05PM to 2PM
You'll now be introduced to the benefits and the techniques of opened eye meditation practice. We'll spend some time here to make sure everyone fully understands the practice.
We'll then take what we learned and go into a calming meditation and experiment with meditation with our eyes open, a light gaze, focusing downward.
1 hour break
3PM to 4PM
In our afternoon practice we'll bring up the energy with stretching and walking meditation.
Later on we will introduce how to "fine tune your meditation" during your practice. This can range from decreasing thoughts, calming the mind, increasing energy (subtle or just be less drowsy).
You will learn how to modify your meditation with eye position, understanding the right attitude with meditation, how to use curiosity as a tool to go deep, and start to understand how to work with pure awareness.
4 to 5PM
We will have a longer practice at the end of this retreat and bring everything we've learned together. There will be a special moment here where we will start to develop wisdom and insight about our selves and the world around us.
The retreat will be finished by a short introduction to "Insight Practice" also known as Vipashyana, not to be confused with Vipassana.
You'll be given tools, different levels of accountability, guided meditations, and more to take with you after this retreat to continue to deepen your newly refreshed meditation practice.
