New Membership
Brown Girls is a Sacramento-based social group for women of African descent.
- Completion of the questionnaire provides the group organizer with insight into member interests in order to improve the type and quality of future activities/events.
- We request a personal photo to attach to your member profile.
- The initial fee to join the group is $15. This amount may be adjusted annually as needed based on any changes to Meetup.com’s platform subscription price. Brown Girl participants will receive a reminder notification to update their membership annually.
Attendance/Participation:
If for any reason you are unable to attend a scheduled group event or activity that you signed up for (RSVP), please remove your name from the Meetup list of participants as soon as possible.
Removing your name timely enables other women who may wish to attend an event the opportunity to sign up (RSVP) prior to the activity date.
No Show Policy: Brown Girls group organizer reserves the right to suspend or revoke membership to anyone who signs up for 3 or more events and subsequently fails to appear (without explanation or apology).
Code of Conduct
Brown Girls is dedicated to providing a supportive, respectful, and harassment-free community space for its members. The group prohibits the following:
• Bullying, violence, threats of violence, or violent language directed against other group participants
• Sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic, ableist, or otherwise discriminatory jokes or language.
• Inappropriate physical contact. You should have someone’s consent before touching them.
• Sustained disruption of group events and/or activities
• Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behavior.
Consequences of inappropriate behavior may include the following:
• A warning to the offending party
• temporary or permanent expulsion from the group
