Spain's Hidden Gems: A Native Grapes Tasting
1501 Pleasant Grove Blvd, Roseville, Ca, USForget everything you think you know about Spanish wine! While Tempranillo and Rioja get all the attention, Spain is home to dozens of indigenous grape varieties that most people have never heard of, let alone tasted.
We're going on a tasting journey through Spain's most exciting native grapes, from the misty Atlantic coast of Galicia to the sun-baked vineyards of Jumilla. This isn't your typical wine tasting: it's a treasure hunt through Spain's viticultural backroads.
š¾ Here's how it works:
- Choose your wine from this linked list
- Bring your chosen bottle to share with the group
- Come prepared to share a few thoughts about your wine: What drew you to it? What did you learn about the grape or region?
Don't worryāthis is fun, not homework! Just spend a few minutes with the bottle label or do a quick search. We're all learning together.
š§ Food will be provided:
- Weāll have Spanish tapas and pairings ready to complement our wines.
- To ensure we have enough food, weāre asking for a $10/person fee.
š About the venue:
- Frances is graciously hosting at her home in West Roseville.
- The address will be emailed to participants the week of the event.
***
P.S. Don't stress about finding the "perfect" bottleāthe adventure is in the discovery. If you have trouble locating your chosen wine, drop me (Suzanne) a note and we can problem-solve together.
