What we’re about
Are you a wine lover looking for like-minded people? New to the world of wine and interested in trying and learning new things? Just want to grab a glass with some good food and great conversation? This could be the group for you!
Let's explore the options in the Sacramento area, from urban wineries, to fancy wine dinners, to checking out a restaurant with a great list. Oh, and brunch. There will definitely be brunch.
Membership dues are $5/year, but you can try us out for 30 days before paying dues.
All are welcome, though 21+ is a must. Wine consumption is always optional.
No-show policy: Please be respectful of others and change your RSVP to "no" if you cannot attend an event. If you no-show three times you may be removed from the group.
Sparkling wine is one of the most joyful drinks on the planet, whether you're toasting a big win or just surviving another Tuesday. And every wine region around the world has put their own spin on sparkling wine, from the classic Champagnes of France to Spain's vibrant Cavas, Italy's elegant Proseccos, and even Japan's surprising and delightful sparkling wines. Who’s in for some bubbles?
🍷 What to expect:
- To make sure we get a nice variety, please select a bottle from this list.
- Once again, we’re going for education 🎓
- Read up on what you’re bringing so you can share a bit about it with the group. If that makes you nervous you can tell Suzanne what you know and she will share it for you!
- To ensure we have enough food, we’re asking for a $10/person fee.
🏠 About the venue:
- We’ll be tasting in Karen’s lovely back yard in Woodland.
- The address will be shared with attendees the week of the event.

- Art + Wine + Walking @ the Urban Dreams ExperienceFirst United Methodist Church, Sacramento, CA
Have you heard about the massive, Burning Man-inspired public art display being hosted across midtown through September 16? It’s called Urban Dreams, and it sounds amazing. It also sounds like a fantastic excuse to get in a good walk and then find a spot for a drink to discuss what we see.
🖼️ First, let’s look at art
- Urban Dreams is set up as a walking art installation, similar to Second Saturdays
- Many of the installations also have lighting effects, which is why I’m setting this as an evening event
- We will follow an itinerary (see below) so if you miss us at the first stop you should be able to catch up
- You can also find all the installations on a map if you sign up through the Midtown website
🧭 Itinerary
- Meet at 2100 J Street (First United Methodist Church) for our first installation
- We will start off promptly at 7 pm and head towards 1050 20th St (MARRS Building), then on to (in order):
- 1827 J St (Midtown Apartments)
- 1215 19th St (Mulvaney’s B&L)
- 1123 18th St (1801L Apartments)
- 1720 L St (Priority Parking)
- 1026 17th St (17 Central Apartments)
💡Tips
- Wear good shoes and bring water
- If you plan to park in midtown, note that we will stay within a roughly 10-block radius
- Right now the weather forecast is for high 80s, cooling to low 80s in the evening. If the forecast changes to above 90, I will move this event to another day
🍷But, what about the wine?
- I plan to stop for a glass somewhere after viewing the art, however, we may find a great place along the way to take a break
- This part is spontaneous - I’ll update this listing with wherever we end up
