About us
This is a group for those interested in keeping their eye in on the London contemporary art scene. We regularly visit new exhibitions across the city including attending Private Views with the intention to see as much as possible, to make friends and connect with other arts professionals and to build our knowledge of the contemporary art scene in London.
Events we see are designed to help you explore new exhibitions (as opposed to permanent displays) and new spaces across the city. Not all events involve 'Contemporary Art' - some may be, for example, pre-20th Century Art exhibitions, visits to Open House events looking at architecture, and occasionally walking tours of outdoor sculpture.
Group events are fun and designed to be both informative and just a good day/evening out. Members are welcome to bring friends and we'll often book a table for lunch nearby an exhibition. We also always try to end each event by heading to a nearby pub/cafe/place to sit down and have chat about the work we've seen, the themes around the work, curatorial decisions and much more.
So welcome to the group and get yourself RSVP'd for some of our forthcoming events!

The Mayfair Galleries: 5 galleries including at David Zwirner and Pace Gallery
The King's Head, 10 Stafford Street, Greater, London, GBIt's been a long while since our last Contemporary Art London event, but I'm really excited to announce our next outing into the gallery scene. We'll be returning to our regular route, visiting five of the big-brand galleries you'll find around Mayfair. And there's a lot to see!
1. Flavin, Judd, McCracken, Ryman, Sandback at David Zwirner
Dan Flavin, Donald Judd, John McCracken, Robert Ryman, and Fred Sandback were at the avant-garde of American art during the 1960s and 1970s, the show bringing together a selection of sculptures, paintings and prints that radically reconfigured the possibilities of abstraction, focusing in particular on these artists’ considered use of colour in their pursuit of a non-representational form of expression.2. Thomas Scheibitz at Sprueth Magers
Scheibitz is among the most important German painters and sculptors of his generation. Since the early 1990s, he has developed a kind of conceptual painting and sculpture that draws upon art-historical references, and at the heart of the Berlin-based artist’s work is a search for a new relationship between figuration and abstraction.3. Alyina Zaidi at Pillar Corrias
Rewilding is a solo exhibition of new paintings by Alyina Zaidi. The exhibition continues the artist’s practice of world-making, envisioning surreal, imagined topographies shaped by memory and myth.4. Tetsumi Kudo at Hauser & Wirth
In a wide-ranging practice spanning four decades, post-war Japanese artist Tetsumi Kudo explored the implications of what would later be termed the Anthropocene in prescient work that interrogated the proliferation of mass consumption, the rise of technology and environmental degradation.5. Loie Hollowell at Pace Gallery
Overview Effect, the artist’s first presentation in the UK since 2018, will feature new paintings from her series of the same name, which uses abstraction to capture the sensations of contractions during childbirth.I hope that sounds like a good round up, and I can't wait to see you!
