Flagstaff High Altitude Psycho Hikers

Hello psycho hikers!
Slot Canyon time!! The canyon that you descend into has water in it and lots of cool exploration points. This is a must-see location.

Please bring sandals or water shoes in addition to your hiking shoes as we will be walking through some water holes that could be as much as waist deep. Also if anybody wants to take a dive in the cool water bring some appropriate attire. This will likely be a pretty hot hike as we're descending into a canyon so make sure you bring plenty of water. We have to hike out about a thousand feet.

Anyone wanting to carpool please meet at the home Depot on woodlands village boulevard at 9am. Those wanting to drive themselves will meet at the intersection of 538 and the sign for Kelsey trailhead(538E). The road to the trailhead off of 538 is very rough and requires high clearance. I did it in my Tacoma but anything less we will just walk the road from the intersection. You take Woody mountain road approximately 14 mi and then take a right onto 538 and go another 6 miles until you see the sign for Kelsey trailhead. We will meet right there at that intersection. Give yourself an hour from the start of Woody mountain road to get there.

Several weeks ago, seven of us enjoyed this 12 mile loop, even though we had to walk through snow and ford a stream in our bare feet. Now let’s enjoy the same loop, this time with wildflowers instead of snow!

The Flagstaff High Altitude Psycho Hikers and the Flagstaff Band of Unstable Paddlers are having a party! We've had many great hiking and paddling adventures since the groups were started in the Spring of 2023. We are looking forward to many more! Even if you haven't attended a hike or paddle yet, you are welcome at the party! The party will be at 3709 E Avocet Way in Flagstaff. The party starts at 4 and the band will start playing around 6ish,

Karl is hosting the party at his home, and we will have a LIVE BAND. The Band is Seven K and it includes John on Guitar and Jerel on Bass along with a female singer and drummer. They play original music with a cover or 2 thrown in.

Please bring any food for grilling as we will have a grill AND Bring a side dish or dessert to share, a beverage, a chair, and ideas for future adventures.

Hello Psycho Hikers!
We move further North for our 2nd out of state excursion. This time we hit the Tetons in Wyoming. I have done virtually every trail in The Tetons and can take the group on some amazing trails that will blow your mind(see pics). Our first hike will be Alaska Basin which is a long hike but you won't care after seeing the epic scenery. I also plan to do a rafting and a leisure day. So plan on 2 big hikes on Mon, Wed, and Friday. Most likely raft Tuesday and leisure day on Thursday. That is the tentative plan. The July date will give you plenty of time to get in great shape and get time off work.
We will be staying in Victor and/or Driggs, ID which is the non touristy side of the Tetons. You can stay in either place or nearby. Both towns are close to each other. I am arriving Sunday and leaving Saturday. Plenty of Airbnb places as well as hotels. Get your reservations now as they fill up quick!
