🎨 Plein Air Painting at the Japanese Tea Garden
Join us for a relaxed morning of plein air painting at the Japanese Tea Garden from 9:30 AM–12:30 PM!
Entrance is FREE on this day, so come enjoy a beautiful morning surrounded by peaceful garden paths, Japanese architecture, lush greenery, bridges, ponds, and beautifully shaped trees.
There will be plenty of wonderful motifs to choose from — the pagodas and tea house, reflections in the water, winding paths, bridges, bamboo, stone lanterns, flowering plants, and beautiful patterns of light and shadow. You can paint a larger garden scene or find a small, quiet corner that catches your eye.

More painting options! If you’d like to explore beyond the Tea Garden, you can also set up around the surrounding gardens, the outdoor fountain, or the Music Concourse. Plenty of interesting architecture, trees, people, and changing light to inspire your painting!

Bring your favorite plein air setup, paints, and a small chair or stool if you like. All levels and painting styles are welcome. The goal is simply to spend a morning painting together and enjoying the garden!

Bring your own lunch, or grab something nearby and join us afterward. And if you’re in the mood for something simple, the hot dogs are surprisingly delicious! 🌭
