At this meetup we'll visit two excellent examples of Colorado architecture. The Colorado State Capitol is full of superb details including intricate stained glass, towering columns, gilded crown molding, gleaming brass chandeliers and, of course, the gold dome. We'll be taking the 10AM pubic guided tour that provides access to the dome, but we need to arrive 1/2 hour early to sign in. After the State Capitol we'll cross the street to the Ralph L. Carr Judicial Center which houses the Colorado Court of Appeals, built in 2013. Known for its sustainable, modern design it features a 12 story tower, a central glass-domed atrium, marble details and a great view of the State Capitol. A wide angle lens is needed to capture the expansive spaces in both buildings, while normal to telephoto are good for capturing smaller details.
