Afternoon Kayaking Deep River to Anastasia Island

The water is sparkling this time of day, the big boats have come in, the sun is not as strong. 3:00pm is a perfect time for kayaking.

Description:
As we enter the estuary we will proceed under the bridge and follow the preserve, pass a beaver hut into a marina. As we paddle across the CT to paralell Anastasia entering a waterway that separates Anastasia and Seldon Creek. Docking on a clean sandy beach with rock outcropppings and a forest. Feel free to paddle more as you view Gillettes castle in the distance

Potluck dinner: Deep River Town Landing with gazebo a deck and picnic area (about 1 mile from kayak putin) enjoy watching the reflections on the water and the birds returning to nest.

Bring your gear, a chair and something to share.

Must have PFD in kayak and preferably be wearing one. Should be able to paddle with ease, sometimes wind conditions change and you should have some experience with controlling your kayak.
* I am not a professionally licensed kayaker and thus don't have experience to save anyone, and cannot be responsible for you; so please be certain you can handle this paddle. It is not a white water by any means but it is a paddle on water. It's fairly easy if you have experience kayaking.
