Ebike or mountain bike day trip to Minnewaska State Park (mountaintop picnic)

I have hiked this area many times and this year want to offer a bike tour. I see lots of people on bikes there so I know we can do it.

Arrive in parking area by 10:30AM.
Parking: AWOSTINGS FALLS PARKING LOT
5281 Route 44 55, Kerhonkson, NY

We will begin ride at 11AM

10 miles, not for road bikes. Fine gravel. We can certainly add to the 10 miles; there are such beautiful view points that we want to take our time. There is a big climb at certain points so you will get a work out.

I will bring a grill so that we can have a cookout on mountain top following the ride. Bring sustenance and something to share.

Grand Tour of Minnewaska with outstanding scenery
Riding Description:
After parking near Awostings Falls, and riding to the falls, [photo op], we will then go on lower awosting carriage road (Black). Riding along the black trail, which is Lake Awostings Carriage Rd, eventually taking a right onto Castle Point Carriage Road (Blue), with gorgeous views of a spectacular valley, ["cliff overlook", "castlepoint lookout"].... views views views. Bordering Lake Minnewaska towards the Visitor Center and back to Awostings Falls.

A bike tour on carriage trails in Minnewaska State Park. Outstanding scenery around Lake Awosting and along the Castle Point carriageway.
All of the trails are doubletrack width and the only challenging aspect of the ride is the climbing, but with ebikes or very strong riders not a problem. The scenery along the Lake Awosting carriageway and the Castle Point carriageway is beautiful especially in the fall.

The loop around Lake Minnewaska is also very scenic. The Awosting falls carriageway takes you to the scenic Awosting Falls (both above and below).
