What we're about

For inquiries: info.mountaincollaborative@gmail.com

When life feels like a big unknown, there's a few things we know for sure: the outdoors are our passion, our muse, and our respite. We want to see more women outside, because we know spending time with the natural world is a powerful catalyst for deeper connection with oneself, other women, and our environment.

If you're passionate about the outdoor life like we are, or just getting your feet wet, we're here to support you. Whether you're setting goals to climb every 14er, dreaming of completing a thru-hike, want to ski the backcountry, or hope to spend your first night under the stars, we aim to collaborate with you and connect you to a like-minded community. Welcome home!

This Meetup is for ALL those who identify as women, and who seek connection and a greater sense of place and peace in the world. Let's collaborate, go on some adventures, and uncover the deeper aspects of spending time outdoors.*

We categorize our meetups in one of the following four categories:

• LEARN (skills workshops, any event that is offered by an instructor, i.e. LEARN // Backpacking 101 Series)

• CONNECT (social focus, book club, monthly community gathering, i.e. CONNECT // Book Club)

• GO (Get Outside, monthly hike, trips, i.e. GO // Moab Trip)

• COLLABORATE (events offered by other organizations that a group of WMC members are interested in attending as a group, i.e. COLLABORATE // REI Force of Nature Event)

*Women's Mountain Collaborative offers workshops, outings, and trips organized by our members. While we make every effort to ensure you are well informed and prepared regarding our offerings, outdoor activities present inherent risks and we assume no responsibility for your safety, nor do we present our offerings as "guided" experiences unless otherwise indicated. It is up to participants to decide if they have the skills and fitness required for certain activities. If you have specific questions regarding an offering, please email info.mountaincollaborative@gmail.com.

***Please note that the Member Monthly Gathering has been changed to Monthly Women's Circle during the winter months*** Women's Circles will be held the second Tuesday of every month. Location may change from month to month, so stay tuned. PLEASE READ for important information about our Women's Circle. 1. In order to respect and hold consistent and supportive space for our community, PLEASE DO NOT NO SHOW. Additionally, we need to begin our circle promptly at 7:00 pm and end by 8:30 pm. You are welcome to arrive any time between 6:30 pm and 7:00 pm to gather, snack, and socialize! 2. Women's Circles are simply a gathering of women who share a mutual understanding that the circle is equal, safe, and supportive. Our Circle Commitments are as follows: We commit to cultivating an equal circle // there is no hierarchy or structure, we are here to come together as equals, not to council others or offer unsolicited advice We commit to cultivating a safe circle // all women are free to share and we respect the circle as a sacred space where what is shared remains in within the circle and is held as confidential We commit to cultivating a supportive circle // we acknowledge that every unique experience is valid and significant, and we trust that we can learn something from everyone's perspective; we allow our initial instincts to judge fall away and we commit to deep listening in an effort to create openness and growth 3. Women's Circles take many forms, and ours will be shaped by the interests of our community based on the vision of WMC, which is to nurture women's sense of connection to the self, other women, and the natural world through active collaboration and participation in outdoor pursuits. We will gather outdoors when possible, and the circle may be based around a theme (i.e. fear, our connection to the earth, self-image, challenges, triumphs...etc.). It is a time to come together, to connect, reflect, share our experiences, widen our perspectives, and practice active listening and mindfulness. If you have questions or concerns, etc. please reach out to [masked]. Look forward to seeing you there! Sarah and Erica
