👋 Hello everyone! We're meeting up to watch this powerful debut feature by writer-director Imran Perretta. In this film he movingly captures the fragile threshold between childhood and adolescence.
With striking monochrome visuals, an evocative original score, authentic performances and an impressive screenplay by Perretta and Enda Walsh, this award-winning drama explores friendship, resilience and the emotional cost of being seen as a threat rather than a child. Poetic yet grounded in the reality of everyday life in Luton, Ish is a timely and resonant story that heralds a bold new voice in British cinema.
The Meetup: We’ll be meeting at the BFI by the box office seating area next to the cinema at 6:00 pm. Then at 6.20 pm we will head into the cinema where you will find me in the front row if you want to sit nearby. You’ll find the full schedule breakdown, tickets, and addresses below.
At 8 PM: we’ll reconvene for our commentary and Letterboxd review in the BFI Benugo. So definitely come for the movie, stay for a good laughs and of of course great conversation.
