🔥 A grieving farmer with nothing left to lose, who gave an entire nation the courage to stand...

👋 Hey guys! This movie actually faced quite a bit of backlash from history buffs and film critics over the way it was initially rebranded and marketed in America, particularly for trying to sell it as a story about Robin Hood, when it was anything but. Hopefully they learned a valuable lesson, because you can't take that many liberties in the name of entertainment.

This gritty historical drama from legendary director Paul Greengrass and starring Andrew Garfield follows a humble labourer devastated by the Black Death and pushed to rebellion by tyrannical taxes. What follows is an uprising of 10,000 commoners marching on London to challenge the feudal system and fight for their freedom.

The Meetup: We'll Meet & Greet at the Victory House Bar at 6:00 pm. Then we’ll head over to VUE West End for the 6:45 pm screening, where you'll find me in seat B12 if you want to sit nearby.

After the film, at around 9:10 pm, we'll meet outside the screen to wrap things up with our commentary and Letterboxd scores. You'll also find the full ticket information, addresses and map down below so you can find your way.

So let's see how much history survives the Hollywood treatment this time around! 😄

See you guys there!
Chris
