Yes, it's time for another history lesson. If only teachers at school were this interesting when I was growing up. Thankfully now we have great storytellers and directors that can open our doors of curiosity like a timeless time machine. Most recently Christopher Nolan exploded our brains with Oppenheimer this summer. If you haven't watched it, I really do recommend it.
Now Napoleon is a film directed and produced by Ridley Scott based on the true story of Napoleon Bonaparte. This new historical epic sets a new change in direction for director Ridley Scott departing from Aliens and steering his ship towards 1700 France. Ridley is no stranger to change, and anyway, isn’t that what great storytellers do?
This movie also marks the return of Juaquin Phoenix and Ridley Scott working together again on the same movie. The last time this happened was back in 2000 with Gladiator, and since then they’ve both been on their A-Game. So let's have a drink and see how these two A-Game Chameleons bring Napoleon back to life.
- First: We meet for🍺drinks, and chit-chat at the classy Picture House Central Cafe Bar on the ground floor. Our table location will have a **The London Movie Club Sign.**Our social time together will be slightly shorter than usual due to the film's length.
- Then: 🍿 We'll proceed to Kia Screen 2 to watch the movie. I will be located in E18 if you wish to sit together. However, feel free to sit where you feel more comfortable.
- After: ☑️ We meet briefly to rate and score the film and we will post the results in our group and our WhatsApp Group
