Having too many concepts or ideas included in a movie could be a recipe for disaster, or in this case, it’s the perfect recipe. I should know this very well since I'm a very good chef if I do say so myself. First, let me tell you that in retrospective years “Crouching Tiger and Hidden Dragon” has been cited as one of the finest Wuxia films ever made and has been widely regarded as one of the greatest films in the 21st century. For those of you, who don't know Wuxia literally means "martial heroes” and it’s a genre of Chinese fiction concerning the adventures of martial artists in ancient China. Here are 9 more things that you may not know about this film:

One: The story is the fourth in a sequence of five. Two: Poison is a significant theme in the film. Three: The success of Disney’s animated Mulan popularized the image of the Chinese woman warrior pushing this film to say otherwise. Four: The film was the first foreign-language film to break the one-hundred million mark in the United States. Five: The title "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" describes a situation that is full of unnoticed masters. Six: The words Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is also an expression that means emotions, passions, and secret desires that lie beneath the surface in a polite society.

Seven: The story is driven by the three female characters challenged by their gender role in society. Eight: The title Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon comes from an ancient Chinese poem that means behind the rock in the dark probably hides a tiger, and the coiling giant root resembles a crouching dragon. Nine: The characters in the Chines title Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon connect the last characters in some Chinese names that mean "tiger" and "dragon”.
