💀✝️ THE MANY EXORCIST TIMELINES AND COUNTING
What do I mean by that? Well, give me just a moment. As we know, it is really hard to recreate something so authentic and genuine as the original Exorcist. You have to remember that before this film, there was no such thing as possession in movies. To recreate such a gem you have to be very careful. Many other films have tried and there has been movie after movie trying to bring something new to a possession film. Well, guess what? You can’t. You can't bring anything new to possession film because it's not even a genre. Easy, Jonny

The sequels that followed kind of stunk if I’m honest. All but one which was The Exorcist Part III based on the original book sequel Legion but that's a cool story for another time. Anyway, my point is that if you're going to make a direct sequel to such a gem, you're going to have to put your money where your mouth is because jonny has very high expectations. So be careful David Gordon Green as your new film The Exorcist Believer better be worth our time.

To answer the question above: The Exorcist Franchise has three different times depending on how you want to see it. The first which is the Original Timeline include the first film (obviously), 2 disjointed sequels and 1 prequel. However, it's a little bit more complicated than that which I can explain to you at this week's Meetup. Then there is the Alternative Timeline, which again include the original film, the same 2 sequels but 1 completely different prequel which kind of changes things. Confused yet? Don't worry!

So what do we have here? Well, The Exorcist Believer resets the timeline back to the original movie, yes right back to 1973. So what we are going to see now Ladies and Gentlemen is a brand new sequel to the original movie. This means that you can completely disregard every single entry that has come in so far. All you really need to be familiar with is the first original 1973 The Exorcist which by the way we are doing a meet-up for its 50th Anniversary.

Oh and by the way, this film is also the first part of a new trilogy of sequels. Didn’t we have that already with the Halloween Trilogy also with David Gordon Green? I’m telling you this is a risky move. So anyway join us for drinks, a chat and some very high expectations regarding this film.
