Hi Ladies!
Please join me for a beautiful loop hike though the woods. We'll start at Pantoll and hike Alpine to Bootjack down into Muir Woods. We'll be in the national monument for only a few moments and then head back up Ben Johnson. There is no fee to enter the park this way. There is a moderate amount of steep up and downhill and some tricky footing due to rocks and tree roots. So please be ready for that and wear good sturdy hiking boots/shoes and bring poles if you like to use them. Bring water, and snacks if you need them. Please bring or wear layers as it can be foggy and damp up there, or warm, especially when climbing up (1400 ft). There are bathrooms at the parking lot and water fountains.
Parking at Pantoll is $8. The parking lot fills up quickly on the weekends and can be full by 8:30. If it is full, look for parking along the side of road, found BEFORE you reach the lot. You can also park at the Bootjack parking lot a half a mile down the road (also before the Pantoll lot). Please plan to arrive early to grab a spot, pay for parking and use the bathroom if needed. Please bring cash to pay at the station. Or if your phone has service, you can pay on your phone using Apple Pay (and maybe a credit card also but not entirely sure about that.)
Please have "boots on" and be ready to hike at 8:30. We don't tend to wait for latecomers.

For the safety and well-being of the group, please take into consideration the distance/elevation gain-loss and your own fitness level when signing up for a hike. As the group leader, I organize hikes but please note that I take no responsibility for your safety. If signing up for a hike, please agree that you are responsible for your own well-being. Sorry, no dogs. Please note that there's a 2 "no-shows" and last minute (less than 24 hours) removal from group policy. Please be courteous to the group and be on time so we can stick to the schedule. Thank you!
