Napa Valley Hikers

Join us for a moderate level hike at Bartholomew Park in Sonoma. We will meet in the parking lot.

UPDATE: Rain is coming for us again this Saturday so I rescheduled the hike to Saturday 5/18. Hope to see you then!

This is a short but beautiful hike. It's only 1.6 mi and 219 ft elev gain and about a 25-minute walk to the waterfall. Parking is very limited so we should try to carpool. If the parking lot is full you can park your car on the opposite side of the street with the baseball field, then cross the street and look for a small bike trail sign. This bike trail takes about 5 minutes walk and leads you to the Linda Falls trail. The trail can be slippery and steep in places so wear appropriate shoes.

This moderate hike provides an overview of of Napa Valley's pioneer history. The hike starts at the cemetery where much of the Donner Party is buried and ends at the Bale Grist Mill.

We'll meet at Bothe State Park and complete the history filled Saturday with lunch at the Calistoga Depot.

UPDATE: The park's site says it will be closed starting May 6th for a critical bridge replacement project for a period of 6 weeks re-opening the park in mid-June. I rescheduled this hike to June 29th.
