About us
Ever wanted to learn how to fight with medieval swords? This group is for you!
We practice live fighting with the longsword as a real martial art, using steel swords (plus foam ones for beginner training), real medieval techniques, and modern safety equipment. It's huge fun, and a great way to stay fit while engaging with history. It's also much, much more entertaining than the gym.
Join us! We welcome all skill levels, from total beginners through to experienced martial artists.
Please note that to participate you must be aged 18+ and have proof of vaccination. We also reserve the right to refuse training to anyone we deem an unsafe training partner.
To get a better sense of what we do, check out [www.newhavenhistoricalfencing.com](https://newhavenhistoricalfencing.wordpress.com/).
NOTE: in response to a FAQ, no, we don't dress up in medieval outfits (not that there's anything wrong with that!)
