🗣 Democracy seems to offer the best — or least worst — example of a system of governance of a wide variety of people in a city or polity. But politics badly needs more thought to be applied to the ideas that underpin it.
👉 Over a year of discussions, the group aims to find a dozen ideas that best serve a political community.
⚖️ The problem is that politics has become divorced from philosophical ideas as an accident of history. In essence it needs to capture and open up the notion of the many.
👩👩👦 Mrs Thatcher famously said that government is akin to running a family. But government involves more than just allocating money. It is about understanding and creating a system that allows people to flourish.
