**Fiasco** is an award-winning, GM-less game for 3-5 players, designed to be played in a few hours with no preparation. During a game you engineer and play out stupid, disastrous situations, usually at the intersection of greed, fear, and lust. It’s like making your own Coen brothers movie, in about the same amount of time it’d take to watch one. You play ordinary people with powerful ambition and poor impulse control. (Event is limited to at most 5 people; post a comment if it's full but you'd be interested. The date and time aren't real, just placeholders. Once we have a group of players, they'll decide on a date/place/time that works for them. I expect it'll be in May or June.) On Thursday January 1st from 2:00pm to 6:00pm Jennifer N. will be hosting a New Years Day Euchre and Potluck at her house to celebrate kicking off the 2026 Euchre New Year! When you RSVP please simply list what you'll be bringing as a side dish so Jen knows what to expect. Remember to bring your beverage of choice as well. There is visitor parking spots available on Manchester Way as well as Bedlington Terrace. Feel free to drop off something at the house first and then find parking. Every member of the Alexandria Euchre Club must know how to play the game of Euchre to attend a meetup. If you know the game, but it has been years since you've played, that is fine as we've all been there and will be patient while it all comes back to you. 2. We have a number of casual games going on all night. We also play stick the dealer (ask if you don't know this variation). 3. Euchre is a 4 person game. What this means is that if you sign-up, we are counting on you to be there. Please be considerate and make your final decision as soon as possible. The deadline for RSVP is 2 days prior to the meet-up. Please update by that time, especially if you are going to cancel your RSVP. This allows some time to try and fill out the tables. Of course, we understand that you may get sick on the day. We are happy to have you stay home if you get sick. 4. There are some costs associated with meetup--I have to pay Meetup every 6 months for listing on their website. They don't work off of advertising fees. We pass the bowl around and ask people to throw a $1 in each time they come.

The city of Laurel has reopened the community centers! GCOM Laurel will be happening again Thursday night! We’ll be gaming from 6-9pm. Masks are still required and if you’re not feeling well, get better and join us next week. We’re at the Robert J DiPietro center!

Everyone is encouraged to get vaccinated, but not required. I just got mine. I don't want to get any of my friends sick! I will, however, be screening for a standard set of COVID symptoms. If you are showing any symptoms that could make people nervous, please postpone coming to the meetup till you're over it. While sneezing is not a COVID symptom, I think folks would rather not risk getting even a cold right now, so again please don't show up if this is the case, even if you're sure it is just an allergy. On the other hand, no masks are required, although feel free if it'd make you more comfortable. General day of games! Whatever folks feel like playing. Bring your own or learn a new one! If you want to play a longer game, you might want to propose it on the meetup discussion to judge interest. I'll have snacks and soda on hand. Additional snacks or soda welcome. We usually order out for dinner and then continue on till 10pm. The games we usually play tend towards those requiring more thinking than typical family or party games and they are usually in the 2-4 hour range. Photos from past meet ups can give you a sense of them. We do sometimes play lighter games though.

We play a variety of high interaction games with a focus on Euros. Events will start with quick games while people arrive and eat lunch. We will start longer games around 2pm. While the official end time is 5pm, people are welcome to continue playing games afterwards. Western Market closes at 7pm on Sundays. A Starfinder Society Scenario designed for 1st- through 2nd-level characters, playable in 2-3 hours. First Seeker Sarmak has called on the scientist Dr. Heldin Sevaille to create an inoculation for an process known as “conversion” which is transforming wildlife and residents of the Sloughscar Hills into monsters in the service of the Wreck of the Returned. The final ingredient Dr. Sevaille requires is found in a remote forest called Ste Xinnith on Marata, one of Bretheda’s moons. Dr. Sevaille dispatches a team of Starfinders to collect samples of this rare plant with the aid of a few local scientists. But trouble is brewing in Ste Xinnith… Frozen Trove, a Triaxian biotech corporation notorious for unethical and illegal methods that damage environments to maximize profits, has established a laboratory in the area, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake. With the entire ecosystem at risk, it’s time for the Starfinders to take a stand. This is an adventure in the ongoing Invasion's Edge metaplot. Written by Sara Jeffers.

######## NEW LOCATION ####### We are going to be at The Forge on Bethel Rd this week and until further notice! The Forge does have a full bar and kitchen. There is no cover charge but they do request all attendees to purchase a minimum of ~$20 per person. Soft drink refills are $1 each. Please support our hosts so we can continue to provide great events for the group! The Forge has a large library of games available for us to enjoy. Hosts and regulars will also provide numerous popular games but please bring any games you would like to teach and/or play. Doors open at 6, and we expect gaming to be rolling by around 630. Please promptly end your games and clear out the space at 10pm when the bar closes. We encourage socializing but do not permit disruptive behavior of any kind. Thank you for your continued commitment to providing a fun and welcoming space to veteran, newbie, and rookie gamers in the Columbus area! Parking can be challenging. There is a parking lot behind the building that is free and easy to walk from but it's a bit hidden.

Join us at Easton Town Center for a casual evening of board gaming. Play from our library or bring one of your favorites to share. We usually bring along Catan, Ticket to Ride, Cascadia, etc... We'll be set up at the Donatos Pizza Party Room. It was free for us to reserve, but you may want to buy a drink or go in on a pizza. Why Easton? Although there aren't any board game stores / cafes here, it's a nice area. More importantly, this event coincides with LifeTime Fitness Parent's Night Out, so our kid will get babysat. If you happen to be a member of Lifetime you too can get free babysitting and play some games.
