Build a FPV Tiny Whoop Drone Workshop

Details

This paid workshop is designed to introduce anyone to drones with hands-on building of a Tiny Whoop drone. Tiny Whoops are small first-person-view (FPV) quadcopters aircraft equipped with a tiny camera/video transmitter and are flown by their pilots using FPV goggles which are similar to VR headsets. Flying a Tiny Whoop is a lot like a real flying Mario in a Super Mario Galaxy game. They’re super safe and light, weighing only as much as three large marshmallows! With practice, you can quickly improve your piloting skills and explore all kinds of spaces, indoors and out or even race with others at Generator. The workshop also covers a wide range of essential and important information to ensure safe use and flying and how to avoid costly crashes.

Material fee includes: A complete kit (you keep) with everything needed to build a great Tiny Whoop and start flying, even racing. It includes FPV goggles w/battery, quadcopter w/upgraded motors, radio transmitter, FPV camera/transmitter, battery, and charger.

This class would consist of:

Overview and anatomy of a quadcopter drones
How to learn how to fly and practice including radio basics...what each stick and buttons do
Conversion of a toy quadcopter to a full fledge Tiny Whoop racer/freestyle FPV drone
Choosing indoor/outdoor locations and how to notify airports.
FPV Drone Racing/Freestyle do's and don'ts
Flight risk mitigation and FAA safety briefing

Please register and secure space for this workshop at: https://generatorvt.com/classes/drones/#!event/2018/10/16/build-a-fpv-tiny-whoop-drone-workshop

DO NOT GET DISCOURAGED IF THERE ARE FEW (or zero) RSVPs SHOWN ON THIS PAGE.
All our meetups are advertised to several different clubs and web sites. More people have likely signed up for this workshop using those other methods. Those other methods are completely independent of this page/group and are more active. We will automatically close the meetup to new sign ups once it’s actually full. In the rare and unlikely event we don’t fill up, the workshop will still go on as long as there is at least one paid signup.
