SecureDrop is a free and open source whistleblower submission system that news organizations can use to securely accept documents from anonymous sources. Originally created by the late Aaron Swartz, it is currently developed and maintained by the Freedom of the Press Foundation. SecureDrop is now run by dozens of news organizations, including The Intercept, the New York Times, the Washington Post, The Guardian, and many more at https://securedrop.org/directory . At the hackathon, you will join Freedom of the Press Foundation staff to write code or documentation for SecureDrop, who will be attending!
