Dr. Enigma: History & hands-on demo with an Enigma Machine at Noisebridge
Details
Mark Baldwin (aka Dr Enigma) is an expert in the history of cryptography and the Enigma Machine -
an electro-mechancial enciphering device developed and used by Nazi Germany during World War 2.
He's on a tour of the Bay Area in February 2018 with a real Enigma Machine, and we're excited to have him speaking at Noisebridge on the evening of Wednesday 28th in the Hackitorium. After the talk, there'll be a chance to use the device hands-on to encrypt some messages!
We're also lucky to have some additional sponsors supporting us, and they'll be matching all donations raised for the event. These matching proceeds will be donated directly to Noisebridge. If you know anyone else who'd be interested in sponsoring and supporting events like this at Noisebridge -- or future ones -- please put them in touch with us!
There's more information about Mark, the Enigma Machine and the events he runs available at https://drenigma.org/about/
