Global Game Jam 2023 by Bay Area Devs (B.A.D.) Indie Game Collective #GGJ23Noisebridge

This will be the opening ceremony for our Global Game Jam site at Noisebridge Hackerspace in San Francisco!

I'm excited to announce that this event will feature two guest speakers who will share some great tips and game jamming wisdom with the crowd
before we get to jamming!

First we have Jedd Goble, local independent developer who runs the East Bay Game Devs group, which hosts in-person meetups around Oakland and the surrounding area as well as virtual events!
He'll be talking about scoping your game jam project and lessons learned from his own experience with game jams!

Then for the second talk, hear from founder of SF Game Development & Sr. Product Marketing Manager at HashiCorp Jordan Schuetz, on how to develop a game rapidly for a game jam. Picking the right tools for the job is important from the start, so that way you don't waste critical time with technical debt and toil. In order to go to market quickly,
learn from Jordan on how to leverage APIs and SDKs to create a high quality game in record time.

The start time is 5PM, and the talks will be at 5:30.

Food and drinks will be provided and should be there by 5! Feel free to get there early, get set up at a desk, then grab a bite to eat, and/or mill about the venue and chat with folks before the talks, which will promptly be followed by the theme reveal at around 6!

In order to continue to promote the health, safety, and well-being of all the participants, this event is hybrid online and in-person. However we strongly encourage participants to attend the in-person opening and closing ceremonies for the best experience!
