Join me for a challenging tour south from San Jose to SLO, going along backroads with lots of elevation.
It will be 4 nights of camping with lots of epic riding during the day.
Did some research on the roads between Carmel and Kirk Creek CG (Hwy 1) and they appear to be open and rideable, though there are a few spots of "hike your bike" on Indians Rd.
Here's the map (route A): https://ridewithgps.com/routes/52574452
Here's an alternate route with a detour around Indians road. This is 17 miles longer, but spares 1,700+ ft. elevation gain.

I am still researching the water situation at Arroyo Seco CG.
"Plan C" is to try to cycle thru on Hwy 1 and hope there is no one checking at the Ragged Point washout (we may need to ride it late in the day.) We could always camp in Big Sur if this is not possible, and turn around. We can decide once we're in Monterey.
Please sign up if you are seriously interested to join, and I'll get in touch. If no one joins that is fine - I'll also enjoy this by myself. However, bike touring is more fun with company :-)
