About us
[GROUP UPDATE: 8/30/26]
Hi all! I’m going to keep this group going for one more month thru September, as I can’t afford the ongoing membership dues. But I’m going to continue with a new facebook group I’ve started called MN Arts & Crafts in the park. The intention is to have meetups once a month at a park during the nice weather months, then transition to indoor venues in the winter. Please join here if you’d like to continue with in-person crafting meetups!
I plan to have at least one meeting in September, probably at the Brooklyn Park Mississippi Gateway park. I will post that event here when I have it finalized. To be honest, I might not be able to host events the rest of this year during Oct, Nov & Dec, as I’ll be participating in several craft shows that take a lot of prep work. But my plan is to host 1-2 meetings per month in Jan-March/April. Then hopefully in May go back to outdoor meetups at parks.
I’m planning on indoor venues like Panera, Caribou Coffee, libraries (Northtown, Champlin, etc), or maybe even the food court at Northtown Mall. (I know, I know…but they’ve done some work on it, it’s not half bad! And it has lots of open tables!) Or I may just stick with the Visitor Center building at Gateway park, if that works out. Lots of details I still have to work out. Stay tuned for updates!

Arts & Crafts in the park
Mississippi Gateway Regional Park, 10360 W River RD,, Minneapolis, MN, USBYO creative project! Painting, sketching, writing, fiber arts, digital arts, etc. Any medium is welcome, as long as it's portable, won't leave a permanent mess, or be too loud for other park visitors.
We will be meeting at a picnic table near the Visitor Center, close to the parking lot. Probably to the left side of the building by the big trees. Look for the table with a festive balloon :)
I will bring a couple extra chairs, but feel free to bring your own if you like, and bring any beverages/snacks you might want. You can drop in late or leave early if needed, no pressure. You're also welcome to just come and hang out if you don’t feel like bringing your own project with you. I will be supplying some coloring materials as well.
Just a casual hang out & craft while enjoying some nature!
In case of bad weather, the visitor center is open until 8pm. We can move to the indoor lounge area, or under the covered patio next to the building.
Check back here for updates, and let me know if you have any questions. I'm looking forward to seeing you all there!
PLEASE NOTE: at the end of September, this group will no longer be hosted here on Meetup. We are moving to facebook. Please join our group MN Arts & Crafts in the park for future events!
