Clean Up on Walnut Creek Paddling Trail w Free Lunch

Details
Celebrate our Texas paddle trails by participating in our Adopt-a-Stream cleanup with Keep Grand Prairie Beautiful. This is a chance to paddle a Texas Parks and Wildlife Paddle Trail and help the environment at the same time. Best of all--it's free!
PLEASE READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY!
We will launch from Loyd Park on Joe Pool Lake and paddle the Walnut Creek Paddle Trail, stopping to remove the pockets of trash that inevitably finds their way to the creek. Normally it is $20 per car to get into the park, but volunteers for this cleanup get in free, and if you need a boat, those are free as well so long as you preregister on the Grand Prairie Volunteer site and request a boat before Wednesday June 25 at 4 PM. (Limited number)
Boxed Lunches will be provided for the pre registered volunteers.
Once you register with Grand Prairie you will be sent a PDF of the pass you will need to get into the park for free.

Pro Tip: The best way to enjoy this event is to paddle to the end of the trail, spotting for likely trash along the way that you want to come back to, then clean up as you work your way back. This way you get to enjoy and experience the entire trail without getting bogged down with the trash at the beginning and missing the chance to see the whole trail.
