Join members of The Native Plant Society of Oregon, Portland Chapter and some Oregon Master Naturalists at a kick-off event for Native Plant Appreciation Month. Canemah Bluff Nature Park is a special oak and vernal pool habitat just south of Oregon City, OR. This EASY 1-2 mile hike will take us across basalt bluffs and into the woods, where we will see a variety of oak habitat and plant associations, from prairie to woodland. We will be collecting data using iNaturalist, to compare with last year's April fools' visit. Please join our NPSOPDX26 Native Plant Appreciation Month

This is a Metro Park, so definitely no dogs. Canemah Bluff Nature Park | Metro Restrooms are available at Canemah Children’s Park. Parking is tight, so consider carpooling from somewhere nearby.

Many spirits have lived and walked along these basalt bluffs and vernal pools. Join members of the Portland Native Plant Society as we explore the past, present, and future of vernal pools, Camas, and oaks, while looking for signs of rebirth.

Hard rain cancels, but a few April showers only help the ferns and flowers show their faces! Please Edit RSVP below promptly if you cannot join us.

Look for us at the Map Kiosk, or under the shelter, with a hiking stick and NPSO green bandana!

A hand lens (close-up magnifier) will greatly enhance your enjoyment of this walk. Be sure and bring drinking water and raingear.
