Weeknight kayak polo @ Pier 66

Details

Please RSVP several days in advance, and check back here (and/or on Slack) before you come to make sure the session has not been cancelled. Summer storms can be hard to predict, and sometimes we need to cancel at the last minute.

Our weeknight kayak polo sessions at Pier 66 typically consist of some warm-up, and some combination of basic skills drills & practice, and and informal scrimmages. The Pier 66 location, as well as the tides, currents, and waves on the river, result in conditions that can be quite challenging for beginners, so please check with the session host(s) before signing up if you are new to kayak polo and advanced kayaking (e.g., whitewater or open-water sea kayaking).

We have club gear available (boats, paddles, PFDs, sprayskirts, helmets). You should bring water/paddling shoes, clothes that can get wet (no cotton) and a change for afterwards, and a towel & soap if you want to shower. Membership covers unlimited sessions during the season, or you can pay $25 per session. Your first session with our club is free, however. More info can be found at https://www.nykayakpolo.org/membership/.
