About us
This club is for former and prospective Three Peaks Challenge participants – and their family and friends
We have three styles:
1. Walks - (example) our walk around Sydney Harbour. These are walks which - whilst long - allow you to drop out early if it becomes too much. These will continue to be offered so we get out and see our city from another perspective. Please bring water and snacks for these, and let the lead guide know on the day of anything you are concerned about. Typically you don't need hiking gear either. Just good walking shoes.
2. Hikes - these are typically for experienced hikers only, however we may offer some crossover with walks. You must have water (typically 2-3 L), hiking boots or shoes, trail runners etc, and experience. We will advise in hike details if you can do a sample and drop out early.
3. Over summer, we can introduce you to hiking over a concentrated sequence of walks/hikes. This leads up to a charity event that this group supports. See https://www.threepeakschallenge.com.au/
Some Rules:
1. We leave no-one behind. We walk at the pace of the slowest walker/hiker.
2. We are inclusive. We welcome people of all fitness levels, and we offer events to suit.
3. If you are unsure if you have the fitness level to attend a particular event, please choose one of our walks instead, or message the lead for that event, who can advise you.
4. If you have concerns or suggestions - before, during, or after an event, please let the organiser know
Disclaimer:

We recommend you have health insurance and ambulance cover.
To make this as clear as we can – you are responsible for your own safety, and the safety of other participants on our events. Our organisers and guides will assist you whenever possible, however they are not responsible for injury or loss you sustain on an event. – nor is the manager of this Meetup group – or other groups affiliated with this group.

Great North Walk Section 5 - Mount Colah to Mount Kuring-gai
Location not specified yetThis is 5th section of GNW. This is much better signposted than our last section - for those lovely people who tried that!
Whilst rated hard, the worst bit is actually at the end where the walk out to Mount Kuring-gai is tough given it is at the end - and up a steep fire trail.
As always we will look after you the whole way. Note: there are no options to drop out part way, other than turning back - or going the whole way to the end. Toilets are only at the beginning and end too.
We have done this walk many times, so we understand the conditions. You will need 2-3 litres of water and (optionally) Gatorade/Powerade/Hyrdalyte. Hiking/trail running shoes (or boots) are strongly recommended, as are hiking poles. Bring a hat and snacks as well.
