- Virtual Write-in (just bring pen & paper, prompts provided!)Link visible for attendees
Welcome to the OCC's write-in! This is a time to get some words on the dang page, shake up your creativity, break through writer's block, and have fun playing with new ideas. Just bring yourself and something to write with, everything else is waiting for you.
How it works:
The session will consist of a series of short writing sprints, ranging from 2-7 minutes, with new prompts provided for each. After each sprint, anyone who wants to share what they've just written can read it out loud.Rules:
- Feedback is minimal, positive, and encouraging; this is not a critique group (although the OCC will be rolling that out soon!).
- Writers of all genres and all levels of experience are welcome.
- If the prompt provided doesn't inspire you: write to something else
- Pen & paper are encouraged, but assistive tech is of course absolutely fine.
- No homophobia, sexism, transphobia, racism, etc. will be tolerated.
- Adults only, since mature content may be shared.
Structure:
- Welcoming & brief intro explanation
- Writing!
- 5-10 minutes before the end (dependent on number of attendees), wrap-up with some time to socialize and network.
Note: This will be a weekly recurring event, but this may not be the permanent day/time.
Credit for the write-in format goes to the wonderful in-person Midtown Writer's Group; if you're in the Twin Cities, I highly recommend attending!
If prompted for a passcode, it is 008653.
