## Power and Perils of AI Aided Coding

• AI coding uses intuition, assistance, or rapid iteration to build software without traditional design formality. It can feel liberating and fast, but it comes with hidden risks. This session takes a closer look at both the advantages and pitfalls of this emerging approach.
• Attendees will explore when AI coding can boost creativity, collaboration, and speed, and when it can lead to fragile, hard-to-maintain systems. Through practical examples and guidelines, you will learn how to harness its strengths while avoiding the traps that undermine quality and long-term sustainability.

## Format

• 6:30pm — Welcome & Networking: Pizza, drinks and name tags will be provided—come hungry and ready to connect!
• 7:00pm — Get people into the auditorium.
• 7:05pm — Orlando JUG and ODevs opening remarks.
• 7:10pm — Featured presentation by guest speaker.
• 8:20pm — Q&A + Social Time. Two attendees will each win a JetBrains license (e.g. IntelliJ IDEA, CLion, PyCharm Pro, ReSharper, etc.) and 3 attendees will each win an O'Reilly book.

## Speaker

• Dr. Venkat Subramaniam is an award-winning author, founder of Agile Developer, Inc., an instructional professor at the University of Houston, and creator of dev2next conference.
• He has trained and mentored thousands of software developers in the US, Canada, Europe, and Asia, and is a regularly-invited speaker at several international conferences.
• Venkat helps his clients effectively apply and succeed with sustainable agile practices on their software projects.
