A Somatic Expressive Arts Workshop on Wonder and Beauty
with Trina Soileau

Please join us in a gathering where we will share stories through the arts. We will explore how connecting to yourself through body awareness and creativity can become a powerful pathway to recognizing the wonder and beauty that is waiting to be witnessed.

Somatic expressive arts is a gentle, creative practice that blends body-based awareness (somatic) with non-verbal art, such as movement, drawing, writing, or sound-making. It’s less about creating art and more about tuning into your inner world to access our imagination and creativity that words alone can’t reach.

What to expect for this workshop:

  • Simple meditation to go inward and connect with our bodies and breath.
  • Expressive arts prompts using poetry and storytelling to open the doorway to inspiration and your own creative expression.
  • Sharing and witnessing our creations (share what feels shareable and keep what you want to keep close).
  • No art skills required—just a willingness to be curious about what arises.

Art Supplies:
Feel free to bring supplies such as pencils, pastel crayons and a drawing pad if you have it, but this is not required. There will be paper and writing utensils available for drawing and writing.

Trina Soileau
Although creative movement has been a part of her life for some time, art-making alongside creative movement came after attending workshops led by Anna Halprin at the Tamalpa Institute, and after completing a 500-hour program with Lanie Bergin at the Expressive Arts Institute of Oregon.

The expressive arts provide a pathway for Trina to cultivate curiosity and connection with herself, others and the world in which she lives. As a result, her life experiences and how she sees and connects with the world have deepened.
