Come join us on May 31 for an San Diego State University Architectural Photo Tour and Shoot. The tour will include opportunities to photograph the new Aztec Center, Pedestrian Bridge, Stone Monuments, Performing Arts Plaza, Scripps Cottage, Hardy Memorial Tower, Heppner Hall, Mediterranean Garden, and the exterior of the Love Library, as time permits. This tour is perfect for those looking to learn more about architectural photography and experiment with different techniques. Included in the tour will be a brief historical background on each of the subject areas. We will meet in front of the KPBS Building and leave rpomtply at 7:30AM and walk through campus. The tour/shoot will likely last about 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
Here is the link to the SDSU parking information: Parking Info. (http://police.sdsu.edu/dps/parking_information.aspx), however, I recommend parking in the residential area off Montezuma and College Place or Rockford Drive and walk to campus. NOTE: Some meters are on, so please do not leave your vehicle at a meter, SDSU parking offers no grace period. Options for arriving include carpooling and trolley.
Here is a campus map for your orientation: SDSU Map (http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=6907790)
Gear: I suggest a wide angle lens if you want to photograph entire buildings, or a medium to long lens for architectural details. I will give instructions to those who are interested on the use of wide angle lenses to compose and photograph architecture.
Any questions, email me on my profile. If you don't know the campus well, it's best to familiarize yourself with the map!
