Architecture & Sculpture Tour at UCSD

Details

Join us for an exciting tour of the Architecture and Sculptures at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) Campus. The campus features many interesting Buildings in a variety of modern styles. We will also be checking out many of the outdoor sculptures of the renowned Stuart Collection. There will be photo-ops galore on this shoot.

When to meet: We will begin our walk through campus promptly at 7:00AM. Please be on time. We expect to be done by about 10:00AM.

Where to meet: As UCSD now charges for parking everywhere on campus and has also limited guest parking, we will meet at the corner of Villa La Jolla Drive and the entrance to the VA Medical Center.

How to find the parking lot: Take La Jolla Village Dr. to Villa La Jolla Dr. and go up the hill. At the light, turn right to enter the VA Hospital grounds and then take your first right into the parking area. The lots will be on your right and there is an upper and lower area. Do not park in the garage, just use the open lots. Other than disabled spaces, you can park most anywhere.

Maps: Here is a map that shows the route we will take: Route Map

I suggest you send a link to your phone so you can check the map in case you get seperated from the group.

What we will do: We will walk through campus according to the map and take photographs of the architecture and sculptures.

What to bring: Wide lenses are a plus for this shoot, but medium lenses will also work and even long lenses for shooting architectural details. Be sure to bring comfortable walking shoes, as the tour will be about 4 miles long. With all the walking around to line up shots, etc. 5 miles is more realistic.

Special Notes: We expect this shoot to fill up quickly, so only RSVP if you’re certain you can attend. Try not to change your RSVP shortly before the shoot.

If the shoot is full, RSVP YES anyway and put your name on the waiting list. If there is enough interest this shoot will be repeated.

Any questions, comments, suggestion contact Walter via email. If you get lost during the shoot, call Walter at 619-886-7893.
