Somewhat Impromptu Sunset at Oceanside Pier
Details
Let's get out and shoot the sunset! Sunday's sunset is at 5:08 pm, with a slight negative tide at 3:31. As of now it's looking like we'll have about 38% cloud cover, just enough to make it interesting!
We will meet at 3 p.m. for our group photo, before heading off to shoot surfers, reflections, and other things that catch your eye.
Allow some extra time to find parking. There are several free lots within a short walk of the pier. Street parking on Pacific Street south of Tyson Street is free; north of Tyson Street is metered until 6 p.m. This guide has info on parking areas in Oceanside: https://visitoceanside.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Oceanside_Parking-Guide_Revised_10-05-23.pdf
You will need to bring your tripod, and a cable/remote release is a plus. Wide and medium lenses work great for shooting the sunset and landscapes, zooms are best for photographing surfers and people. I'll probably bring a 200-500, and 24-70 to cover everything.
