There is a saying that “water” can connect different worlds, and if you walk in a thick enough fog, you can meet creatures seemingly from other worlds. Join us for a night safari of the Tianmu Historic Trail on the southern edge of Yangmingshan National Park. Limited in party size, this trip will offer guests the opportunity to get up close and personal with endemic and native non-endemic species of amphibians, reptiles, and insects.

- From Forest to Beach along the Pingxi & Shikong Historic Trails -
Join Parkbus Taiwan for an amazing day out hiking about 10km from New Taipei City to Yilan County, ending at the spectacular beaches of Wai'ao!
This is always a really fun time!
There is no public transportation available to the Pingxi Historic Trailhead in New Taipei City, so this is a perfect Parkbus trip.
This trip offers participants the opportunity to hike 10km from New Taipei City to Yilan along two historic hiking trails in Taiwan. These are relatively easy, non-technical trails.
There are some really nice views over the east coast of Taiwan, especially if guests decide to hike up to Taihe Mountain (太和山), which is only an extra 45 minutes - well worth it!
There are a few streams to cross, but they aren’t too deep. Bring a bathing suit and a small towel to dry up if you want to cool off in the river. The route we will be taking (see map below) will end in Wai’ao, where guests can take a dip in the Pacific Ocean or grab a bite to eat and a drink at one of the local eateries in town.

Hiking Wuliaojian offers participants the opportunity to climb one of the most popular and exciting hiking routes in Taiwan.

The Wuliaojian trail is almost entirely on narrow compact soil trails and wooden/concrete stairs. There is also several short, vertical ropes to help hikers with the various steep sections that require moderate scrambling abilities. Hiking Wuliaojian (五寮尖) is famous for its dramatic knife-edge exposed ridge. It also gets notoriety for its long, 30-meter-long rope descent off the peak, which is rewarding, but challenging. This is a loop hike along the top of the ridge.

- Adventures in Taiwan's Central Mountains - Guanwu National Forest
Guanwu National Forest Recreation Area
Join Parkbus Taiwan on a small group hiking tour to the spectacular Guanwu National Forest.
One of the more remote National Forests in Taiwan, this protected area features an abundance of hiking experiences enough to fill out an entire day.
** TRIP OVERVIEW **
Departing from Hsinchu High-Speed Train Station, this small group hiking tour transfer guests to Guanwu National Forest for a day of exploring this remote, but well-maintained protected area. From the Guanwu Visitor Center, guests can choose from several trails that vary in length and difficulty. They can choose to hike alone or with others depending on the groups' preferences. There are several trails within Guanwu National Forest and they vary in length and difficulty. Most of the trails are accessible from the Guanwu Villas and a few start/end at the Visitor Centre which is located a few hundred meters up the road. While most of the trails are looped, there are a few that feature an ‘out-and-back’ hiking experience or simply are connections to longer trails, such as the Honeymoon Path.
One of the most popular trails in Guanwu National Forest is the Jhenshan Trail / 榛山登山步道 (4km loop) due to the 360-degree views of the central mountains and Shei-pa National Park. This mountain trail takes an estimated 4 hours in its entirety, including taking some time at the peak. While marked as 4km, there is an additional 3km along a wider road that takes hikers to the official trailhead entrance. This adds an additional 20mins or so on each end of the hike as it is relatively flat and easy terrain. This trail is well-crafted, however, there are elevation gains and steep inclines can mean this trail is more suitable for those with moderate physical fitness.
Another popular trail is the Kuaishan Big Trees Trail (6km out-and-back). This beautiful trail slopes gently upward through a secondary forested area with a mix of compact soil and wood-planked cliffside paths. The views are amazing on clear days and are mixed between beautiful wooded areas. There are streams that are crossed along wooden bridges, making the entire experience a very enjoyable hike in nature. After about an hour of hiking along this trail, guests will be truly humbled by the ancient towering trees. The first of five trees is a remarkable five-thousand-year-old Red Cypress.

- Climb Some of Taiwan's Top 100 Peaks - Hehuanshan Day Trip
Join Parkbus Taiwan for our small group hiking tour to one of the most spectacular hiking destinations in Taiwan, Mount Hehuan (also known as Hehuanshan).
Travel up Taiwan's highest-altitude paved road before reaching nearly the ceiling of Taiwan for a day of hiking surrounded by Taiwan's Central Mountains.
This small group hiking trip offers guests the opportunity to climb one or more of Taiwan's “Top 100 Peaks” over 3,000 meters in elevation. Known as the "Bai Yue", these high-mountain climbs have become something of a bucket list experience for hikers around the world. The best part about this hiking area is that these trails require no high-mountain permits and are the most accessible and arguably the easiest "Bai Yue" to hike in the country.Departing from Taichung High-Speed Train Station, a private 9-passenger van will take guests directly to the trailhead of Hehuanshan's North Peak. From here guests will join our guide and hike up to Hehuan North Peak 合歡北峰 with an approximate elevation of 3422m! This trail is just over 4km (return) and includes just over 500m in elevation gains. We are estimating about 5 hours for climbing and descending this moderately difficult trail as a group. It is a steep climb over a short distance and is suitable for those who are moderately fit. The elevation can have an impact on one's hiking pace.
After the group has come down, our private van will be waiting for us to take the group to the Hehuanshan Lookout. At this location, guests will have access to restrooms and a shop with a small selection of drinks and food. Guests can stay and enjoy a time to relax or they will have a choice of hiking one of two (if time allows, both can be ascended) trails.
- Shimenshan (石門山) which has an elevation of 3237m and a total distance of just over 1.6km.
- Hehuanshan Point (合歡尖山) - Although not officially listed as one of Taiwan's Bai Yue, Hehuanshan Point is located at an elevation of 3,217m

- "Dogbus" - A Dog-Friendly group hike along Caoling Historic Trail
Thanks for your interest in joining Parkbus Taiwan's first pet-friendly hike trip along the famous Caoling Historic Trail between New Taipei City and the Pacific Coast in Yilan County!
You asked. We answered. Parkbus Taiwan is hosting our first pet-friendly hiking tour along the famous Caoling Historic Trail between New Taipei City and the East Coast in Yilan County! Shall we call it "DogBus"?

This 10km trail features a mix of asphalt, stone paths, and compact soil and is mostly a shaded trail. Once guests and their furry friends will arrive at the coast, they will be presented with some of the most spectacular views along Taiwan's famous northeast coast. This dog-friendly hiking tour offers an opportunity for dogs (and their owners!) a chance to get out into nature, meet new friends, and explore more of Taiwan. The minimum total distance covered will be around 10km (more if guests wish to hike further along the connected Taoyuan Valley Trail). This trail is suitable is very accessible for beginners hikers and those with moderate fitness levels.
For our dogs, we should consider their capabilities as well. This trail does feature some stairs. They are almost entirely uphill and not too long. They would total about 300m and are level stone steps. We've personally taken our medium-sized dog (Rylee!) on this trail before she was one year old. As best as we could tell she had a blast!

- Epic Suspension Bridge and Mountain Views - Aowanda National Forest
Join Parkbus Taiwan for an amazing day out hiking and exploring the stunning landscapes of Aowanda National Forest. There are a total of 6 trails located inside the national forest and all are suitable for beginner and novice hikers.
Three of the trails can be linked together to create a fantastic day out and one of over 10km of hiking (including out and back). The trails vary in length, difficulty and accessibility providing visitors of all skill levels something to explore.
** TRIP OVERVIEW **
At around 2 hours south of Taichung, this park is no longer accessible on public transit and makes it a perfect Parkbus Taiwan destination. Pick-up and drop-off for this small group hiking tour will take place from Taichung High-Speed Train Station. Due to the timing of the departures for this event, passengers in Northern Taiwan (Taipei, New Taipei, and Taoyuan) can also participate in this event by taking the High-Speed Train service and arriving at Taichung High-Speed Station before 8 am.Once guests arrive at the Visitor Center, they will have the choice to hike alone or in a group and will have enough time to experience all trails within this beautiful protected area.
Aowanda National Forest Recreation Area is located in a mid-altitude river valley in the mountains and the rugged valleys and steep mountains are characteristics of this region of Taiwan. It is not just the red maple leaves in winter that draw visitors here, but also the cherry blossoms in spring, waterfalls in summer, and the perfect hiking temperatures in autumn.
There are several trails in the recreation area, including the Waterfall Trail, Forest Trail, Cherry Grove Trail, Haohanpo Trail, Maple Forest Trail, Bird-watching Trail, First Deck Trail, and Forest Park Trail. Each has its own charm and several lead out to the incredible suspension bridge that spans over the Wanda River. The suspension bridge is frequently mentioned as the highlight of the trip.
