Orionid Meteor Shower Camp

Details

Plan is to stay the night at North Lees campsite and walk up onto stanage edge, which is a short walk, if we have a reasonably clear night, to see the orionid meteor shower. The orionid meteors are pieces of the famous Halley’s Comet ☄️. Who is old enough to remember that?
You’ll need to pack snacks, drink, torch with red light setting, spare batteries, and warm clothing- hat, gloves, duvet jacket . I’ll also take a small chair. We may be out for a while. If you have any fluorescent clothing pop it on too.
Here are the campsite details. You should contact them on them to book direct.

The cost for 1 night with a tent is £14 and if you bring a dog £4 extra. There is limited parking so car share where possible. There are limited spaces for camper vans and for those that want some luxury there are camping pods. It is a quiet site so we must respect that. No noise after 10 pm. I will be at the site from 5pm. Will have dinner and a few beers- about 1.2 mile walk- at The Scotsman's Pack in Hathersage. Will head there at 6 pm.

You can turn up any time after 2 pm at the campsite but would need to pitch your tent before 10 pm at the site. After 6 pm can see you in the pub.
