Sunday Walk and Talk for Prospective Walk Leaders and Anyone!

Last chance I get to take a walk out before heading off for a week on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path with the group.

I envisage a bit of a stroll around the Longshawe Estate of around 8 miles before heading back to the National Trust tea shop for some refreshment and further banter.

Each year for one reason or another we lose regular walk leaders who move or move on to other projects so likewise we need to seek fresh interest from others to fill those slots. These days using phone based mapping apps the navigation is much more straightforward than previously and although we are really happy that new walk leaders find their own walks we also have a big library of walks with gpx tracks that can be used immediately for those who don't want that bother.

All our walk leaders are unpaid volunteers but we do provide liability insurance to make sure individual walk leaders cannot be exposed to spurious or even valid claims made against them. Regular walk leaders get a discount off our popular weekends away and opportunities to co-host weekends. Those delivering scrambles and other more challenging walks may also get full or partial recompense for enhanced personal liability insurance e.g. BMC.

However, you don't need to be a possible walk leader to come on the walk, everyone is welcome and if you haven't got time to come on the walk but want to meet for a chat afterwards just come to the NT cafe at the walk end time of 3:30pm and I will see you there. Your tea or coffee are on me.
