Classic Birchover Circular - 8 miles walk at a leisurely pace

This is a popular, pretty and historic short walk starting and ending in Birchover.
It takes in the Limestone Way (Robin Hood’s Stride/Hermit’s Cave), Youlgreave, Bradford Dale, Alport, Stanton-in-Peak and Stanton Moor (Nine Ladies Stone Circle) before a short descent back into Birchover.
Refreshments at the Druid’s Inn after the walk before we return home.
This walk is very pleasant and relatively easy except for the steep road climb up to Stanton in Peak.
As stated in the title, this walk will be taken at a LEISURELY pace, and so is ideal for anyone who does not want to walk too far or at too fast a pace.

Make sure:
- you are competent in walking this 8 mile route
- wear appropriate attire for the day”s weather conditions (walking boots/trousers/waterproof clothing)
- to pack sunscreen/hats for hot weather
- to pack sufficient water to stay hydrated
- to pack sustaining food and snacks
ARRIVE from 10am for a 10.15am set off
Parking on Main Street up from the 2 pubs where space permits but I will ask at The Druid’s inn and update if we can park in the car park there.
