## Philly Food Explorers! Next Stop: Our First Vegan Restaurant Pietramala!
Pietramala!
Their menu is a mix of salads, small plates, and a few entrees that prove vegetables and plants have more versatility than the city’s murals. Almost everything here has the perfect balance of taste and texture, including the doughy focaccia in a tangy tomato bagna cauda, the crispy lion’s mane mushrooms, and the creamy pappardelle. And while there are some misses, like the squash and ricotta mashup that’s prettier than it is tasty, the menu generally has dishes worth coveting like those last few minutes in bed before the alarm goes off.Why you should come?
Aside from being an amazing place, they are making several accommodations for us. They usually do not seat parties larger than 4 people but are making an exception for us. This is special. Make sure to read the BYOB update below before signing up. You can explore their menu and get a preview of the deliciousness here: https://www.pietramalaphl.com/The Deets:
- ***IMPORTANT BYOB PLEASE READ: This restaurant used to be BYOB. When I made the reservation I was not aware that they now have a liquor license. They typically charge a $25 per bottle cork fee. They are allowing us to bring as many bottles of wine as we would like for $50. The easiest thing to do is spread the charge across the table meaning $5 per person. I know this will not be a problem for our regular members who do not drink. If you do not drink and paying $5 extra is an issue for you, please do not sign up for this event.
- Cost: We will order appetizers family style and then everyone can order their own entree. Please anticipate the total cost to be approximately $50-$65 per person (including tax and a 20% tip). Please bring cash. They only take cash.
- Allergies: If you have any allergies or dietary restrictions, please let me know as soon as you RSVP so I can inform the restaurant in advance.
- Important: I will send a confirmation message a day or two before our visit to finalize the headcount. If your plans change, please update your RSVP to "Not Going" promptly. This allows those on the waitlist to join us and helps me adjust our reservation accordingly.
- Location: Pietramala is located in Northern Liberties so parking can be a challenge. If you are driving leave extra time to find a spot and carpooling is encouraged.
We can't wait to share this delicious culinary exploration with you!
