30th Street to Grays Ferry Crescent

We will be walking the long-awaited "Christian to Crescent" section of the Schuylkill River Trail. I am scheduling this event primarily for those of you who will not be able to attend the ribbon cutting the day before. (See link below.) I may be able attend the later festivities in the afternoon.

We will meet under the Angel in 30th Street station. Once we have all assembled (by 11am or so), we will walk south to Penn Park (optionally checking out Cira Green on the way), and cross to the east bank of the river using South Street Bridge. We will walk south to the new "Christian to Crescent" section of trail, continuing on through the Grays Ferry Crescent section. We will look at the Swing Bridge (I'll post the official name later), due to open for bicycle and pedestrian traffic later this year as a connection to Bartram's Mile.

Since this is a relatively long walk (this was copied from our previous event, Schuylkill Banks to Boathouse Row, covering considerably less territory downstream), you are welcome to turn around at any time to return to our starting point. Depending on how I'm feeling afterwards, I may head up to Cosmic Cafe, Lloyd Hall, Boathouse Row, where they have live music on Sundays.
