Part 2 : Police and Pilot UAP Encounters
Ben Hansen is a security and emergency industry professional with a highly diversified background derived from 30 years of service in both the public and private sectors. He is also an accomplished television host and producer, having contributed to dozens of programs for networks such as Discovery, Travel, History, Syfy, History, and the Smithsonian channels. Many of the TV shows he has helped create or host deal with the UFO and mystery exploration subjects. As such, Hansen is frequently interviewed for internationally syndicated radio programs and news media regarding his TV programs and private research endeavors.
Hansen brings a unique perspective to UFO studies with decades of years of experience that include investigating national security and criminal cases for government agencies at both state and federal levels, security consulting and risk analysis through his company, and academic research related to disaster and crisis management. As a licensed airplane, seaplane, and commercial drone pilot, one of his focus areas has been connecting with aviators to improve the UFO reporting process and to remove the UFO reporting stigma.
With a background in the behavioral sciences, Hansen’s postgraduate research centered on the possible societal consequences of Reality Compromising Events, such as extraterrestrial contact, and strategies to mollify the negative effects. In response to the hundreds of UFO reports he regularly receives, in 2024 Hansen formed a private organization comprised of scientists, medical and legal experts, aviators, former law enforcement, military, and intelligence community professionals. He stays busy following-up on some of the most compelling UFO cases currently being reported, including serving as the pilot case specialist for the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC).
Hansen holds an Executive Master of Professional Studies degree in Emergency and Disaster Management from Georgetown University and a B.A. in Sociology with an abnormal psychology emphasis from the University of Utah.
