***This used to be part of the Vichy Springs 2 day outing. But groups are not allowed anymore.
This special very hidden forest will knock your sandals off ! It's Hidden low in a volcano type Cauldron . A home for super monster redwoods. Forget Muir woods, etc.
Under ground creeks & springs, huge hollowed out trees to walk thru & under. Huge Ferns, winding hidden off the beaten path great photo opportunities. One huge tree lets you hike down under its gaping hollow. It can hold 20 people. Watch for the colorful Red, Orange & Blue Dragonflies.
****We meet at the Starbucks at the exit of Vichy Springs Rd. in Ukiah. ** (Exit right & go right for 100 ft. & left into the parking lot. )
***What to bring: Good hiking shoes, small backpack or Fanny pack, jacket, etc. Bring a lunch. I'll have hiking poles available .
It takes about 20-25 min. to get there from Starbucks.
NOTE: I'll have my usual buffet of food & vino & drinks & snacks for all.
**WE will have our picnic lunch at the Trail start area . Tables & bathrooms are available. (Parking is very limited)
This trek is rated easy.
After the hike we will return to Ukiah for a fun social dinner . I have a great place in town . We should be ready to leave by 7 pm or sooner.
NOTE: I;m available for carpooling pickups at various locations. Most convenient is at the Petaluma Fairgrounds Lot in front of the Library @ 100 fairgrounds Dr. Meet by the fairgrounds exit in front of Library.
******Must call/text me for a ride. Plus if we have more than I can take ; Other cars can meet me there in Petaluma.
