We will be hiking O’Hara Woods Preserve in Romeoville. It is known for the thousands of bluebells that grow underneath the trees. The trail goes through the tree filled woods. Often groups of deer are seen along the path. Meet at 10am and hike 10:15. The walking loop through the woods is about a mile but connects up with 3 miles of other park paths. The paths are mostly crushed limestone. Afterwards for anyone interested we will go to Stone City Saloon 721 Independence blvd for food and drinks. Hopefully the weather will be good and the bluebells in full bloom.
For the walk/hike meet at the O’Hara Woods Preserve main parking lot. It is off of Belmont (a stop light on Independence blvd) and Beverly Griffin drive. Drive all the way back and up the hill to the large parking lot. WHEN GOOGLING DIRECTIONS MAKE SURE TO PUT IN: O’Hara Woods Preserve Main parking lot. Please sign up on meetup so we know to watch for you. Hope to see you there – Dar M
